DAILY EXERCISES 1. Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes. 2. Check over your body to see if there is any tension. If there is, first tense the spot; hold the tension for a couple of seconds, and then release. Continue to do this until your body is relaxed. 3. Then, take several slow, deep breaths and allow your relaxation to deepen. 4. After you begin to feel relaxed, start to create a picture in your mind of a place where you feel safe and comfortable. It might be a place in nature from your past or present life. Or you can create an imaginary place. This will be your place for healing. 5. Bring to mind the person that you are asking forgiveness from. Invite him or her to enter your safe place. 6. In your imagination tell this person about your feelings. Express your remorse and guilt. Continue expressing yourself until you have fully exhausted all of the emotions that you have been carrying from the past. 7. In your imagination, tell this person that you are ready to let go of the past and that you want to release these toxic emotions so that you can live more freely in the present and with greater health and wellbeing. 8. After taking a few deep cleansing breaths, state the following affirmation: “I am willing to let go – I release myself from this past mistake.” 9. When you are ready, say good-bye and allow this person to leave your healing place. 10. Allow yourself time to experience any emotions that continue to be there. Rest for a few moments before stretching and opening your eyes.
